ELSA Training 2026-27

Oxfordshire Educational Psychology Service is offering Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) training for school staff working in primary and secondary settings.

ELSAs are teaching assistants who receive specialist training and ongoing supervision from Educational Psychologists to support children and young people with emotional understanding, regulation, resilience and wellbeing in school.

The programme includes six days of training across the academic year, followed by regular group supervision, enabling schools to develop high-quality, tailored emotional support for pupils. Schools across the UK report that ELSA support has a positive impact on pupils’ emotional wellbeing and their engagement with learning.

Further details, including training dates, costs and booking information, can be found in the ELSA Flyer 2026 (pdf, 291kb)
