Changes to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

There are important changes to the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) identity verification guidance, which come into full effect on 1 November 2025. We are adopting the changes earlier, with implementation scheduled for 29 September.

These updates follow the release of updated guidance from DBS earlier this year and are designed to simplify processes, improve security and ensure consistency across all applicant types.
