Design decisions
The Digital Content team owns the design, style and layout decisions. It is not the responsibility of the service to design how the page, product or elements within it will look.
Services often want to try adding images, moving elements and extra colours. Hours of user research across many different council and central government has repeatedly shown that users just want to be able to find the information they are looking for easily and that these extra elements are distractions, take up space on mobile devices or are just not looked at.
How we work with services
We will work together to understand what the service needs to achieve, and then establish how the solution looks and is structured based on user research.
Publishing content
Content sign-off is shared between the service team and the Digital Content Team. The service team is responsible for the content's accuracy–ensuring it is factually correct.
The Digital Content Team is responsible for the usability and accessibility of the content – making sure it can be found, viewed and meets the user needs in the most appropriate template.
