Wraparound Grant funding is still available

We have supported the creation of 950 new wraparound (before and after school) childcare places in Oxfordshire primary schools. 

Evidence shows that providing, or partnering with an external provider to deliver, wraparound childcare can improve attendance and punctuality, offer a calm start to the day, widen pupils’ activity opportunities, support working parents and carers, and make schools more attractive to families. Wraparound provision can also generate additional income for schools. 

Grant funding is still available, until the end of March 2027, to support start up or expansion costs. This can help with financial sustainability for the first two years of operation. Grants can be for completely new wraparound or expansion of existing provision including longer hours and/or creating additional places.
