Use the Correct Bank Account for School Income

We would like to remind schools about the correct use of paying in slips and bank account details for income collection.

Paying in slips (cash and cheques only) The bank account number pre printed on paying in slips must be used only for depositing cash and cheques at the bank. This account is not set up to receive bank transfers. Bank transfers (BACS / Faster Payments) Schools must not provide the paying in slip bank account details to individuals, parents, or organisations for payment by bank transfer.

For all bank transfers, you should instead provide the details of your Direct Credit Income (DCI) account, which is specifically set up to receive bank transfers and ensures income is correctly processed and recorded.

Why this is important

Using the correct account ensures that:

  • Income is posted accurately to your school’s records
  • Income is not delayed or misallocated
