Supporting children and young people who are deaf/have a hearing loss: training for confident, inclusive practice

Practical, interactive and evidence based training led by experienced specialist Qualified Teachers of Deaf Children and Young People (QToD).

This training introduces hearing loss and develops knowledge, skills, and strategies to create inclusive learning environments that ensure children and young people who are deaf/have a hearing loss can thrive across all phases of education.

This training will enable you to:

• To better understand hearing loss and how it impacts access in educational settings.
• To feel confident supporting children and young people in their use of: personal listening systems (hearing aids, cochlear implants, BAHAs), assistive listening devices, and sound field systems.
• To recognise the interlinked impact of deafness on language, learning, literacy and social interaction.
• To explore and utilise strategies to promote access and independence for children and young people who are deaf/have a hearing loss.
