STEM Opportunity for Secondary Schools
Supported by The Gatsby Charitable Foundation
STEM Clubs Technicians highlights the wide variety of technical roles available to young people in the UK who are looking for non-university career paths. The scheme also supports schools to bring technical careers to life through hands-on STEM learning. The programme is free to take part in* and includes a bursary to support staff training and the cost of materials, making it easy for schools to participate.
Associated with the Gatsby Technicians Gallery at the Science Museum, London and www.technicians.org.uk, STEM Clubs Technicians links practical classroom activities with real technicians and technical careers. It helps students understand how STEM learning connects to the real world and raises awareness of the jobs and roles they can realistically aspire to without requiring a university degree.
