Secondary Bonus Top Up Funding (Element 3) - Exercise for AY 2026/27 

Information required: 

Each secondary school will be asked to complete and return a spreadsheet detailing the support hours provided for each pupil with an Oxfordshire-maintained EHC plan. 

• Spreadsheet issued: By 2 November 2026. 

Submission deadline

• Completed spreadsheets must be returned by 30 November 2026. 

Panel review dates

• Submissions will be reviewed on 17 December 2026 and 28 January 2027. 

Payment date

• Payment will be made by 31 March 2027, although this date may be subject to change. 

Funding calculation 

• The historic formula and submitted support hours will be used to calculate funding at £15.33 per hour of support. 

Further guidance

• Additional guidance will be issued with the spreadsheets.

Significant variances

• Where a return differs significantly from previous years, officers will work with school leaders to review the submission and help ensure equity across all settings.
