Pupils with long-term health conditions
The Department for Education is currently exploring the option of introducing a census flag for pupils with long-term health conditions to gather more granular data about their attendance habits. Having more detailed data will refine DfE’s policy response in this area, support schools to develop effective attendance strategies for these pupils, and inform local healthcare planning. This survey seeks schools’ views on the usefulness of a census flag, and on how it could be implemented effectively and in a low-impact way.
