OSCP Practitioner Forum: When children go unseen, learning for continuous improvement in practice
Practitioner Forum – Session 2
Learning from National and Local Safeguarding Reviews
Join us for the second session in our Practitioner Forum series, where we focus on powerful learning from both national and local safeguarding reviews.
Keynote Speaker
Jane Wonnacott – Safeguarding Consultant, Independent Reviewer, and co-author of the Child Safeguarding Practice Review for Sara Sharif.
Jane will examine the critical learning from Sara’s review, exploring patterns in practice, key messages, frontline recommendations, and how these findings align with themes emerging from Oxfordshire’s own reviews.
Local Learning Spotlight
Simon Mountain (T/Detective Chief Inspector, Thames Valley Police)
Carol Douch (Assistant Director for Safeguarding, Quality Assurance and Partnerships, Oxfordshire County Council)
Simon and Carol will share insights from a recent Partnership Learning Review on neglect—highlighting recurring themes, examples of strong multi-agency practice, gaps identified, and progress made across the partnership in response.
