Nurture Group Training

This two day, in-person training course is designed for practitioners interested in establishing or developing nurture group provision within their school. Nurture groups (pdf, 150kb) are a psychosocial intervention that promotes inclusion by developing children and young people's social and emotional skills, relationships, and sense of belonging. They aim to compensate for missed educational opportunities in the early years and can be delivered in mainstream primary and secondary settings.

Interested schools should identify two nurture practitioners to attend the training, with the practitioner line manager invited to participate in part of the course. Participants will also have access to follow-up group supervision sessions facilitated by an Educational Psychologist to support implementation and share good practice.

The training is provided free of charge to state-funded schools.
