Educational Visits Training – January to March 2026

EVC Training Course for New EVCs

Dates: 23 January 2026 and 11 March 2026
Time: 9:00am – 3:30pm
Location: Hill End OEC (OX2 9NJ)
Cost: £210 (includes lunch, refreshments and handbook)

This one-day OEAP certificated course covers the management checks and procedures for leading off-site visits, as recommended by DfE, Local Authorities and school employers. It is appropriate for all schools and other establishments whether they are maintained, academies or independent. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

It is a mandatory requirement for maintained schools and all schools that subscribe to the OCC eVisit service to have an in-date EVC.

EVC Re-validation Course

Cost: £80

EVC re-validation courses are for EVCs who require revalidation at 3-yearly intervals. This will refresh and extend prior training, share the learning from recent national incidents and support your development of competent visit leaders.

Management of Visit Emergency (MoVE) Training Course

Time: 9:00am – 11:30am
Location: Hill End OEC (OX2 9NJ)
Cost: £75

MoVE training provides guidance for staff who may have to manage a visit emergency. The course is suited to Headteachers, EVCs and School Business Managers. It supports the work of Educational Visit Co-ordinators and provides ideas and materials that will help establishments improve and develop their own emergency planning relating to Educational Visits.

During the course, staff will consider a range of emergency scenarios based on real-life examples.

OCC Visit Leader Training

Date: 12 March 2026
Time: 9:00am – 3:30pm
Location: Farmoor Reservoir (OX2 9NS)
Cost: £170 (includes lunch, handbook and resources)

This full-day course provides OEAP accredited training for staff who are planning to lead Educational Visits. This practical course will provide staff the opportunity to develop knowledge, understanding and skills covering:

  • Visit categorisation and approval
  • The role of the Visit Leader
  • The legal expectations and requirements for employers
  • Risk Benefit Analysis
  • Safety at Water Margins
  • Road and vehicle safety
