Does your school utilise one of our FREE Cycle Training schemes?

Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service's Road Safety Team is pleased to offer free cycle training for children aged 9 and above through two accredited schemes: Oxfordshire Cycle Training and Bikeability.

Both programmes meet the Department for Transport National Standard for Cycle Training and help children develop the skills, confidence and awareness needed to ride safely on today's roads.

Oxfordshire Cycle Training

Oxfordshire Cycle Training has been delivered in schools for over 30 years and is supported by trained volunteer instructors, including school staff, parents and carers. The programme provides practical on-road experience, helping children learn road safety, decision-making, personal responsibility and the Highway Code in a fun and engaging way.

Bikeability

For schools that are unable to recruit volunteers, Bikeability offers an alternative training route delivered by accredited instructors. Oxfordshire County Council works with Bikeability providers and the Bikeability Trust to secure funding wherever possible, helping more children access high-quality cycle training.

Both schemes are available to schools across Oxfordshire and support our aim of giving every child the opportunity to gain lifelong cycling skills and confidence.
