Thanks to Active Travel England, your school could be eligible to take part in WOW – the walk to school challenge - for free.
If you haven’t heard, WOW – the walk to school challenge is a pupil-led initiative from UK charity, Living Streets. Pupils self-report how they get to school every day on the WOW Travel Tracker with those who walk, wheel, cycle, scoot or Park and Stride at least once a week awarded collectible WOW badges. WOW has been helping to reduce congestion and pollution at thousands of schools for 20 years. WOW is taking place in 1,700 schools so far this academic year. Last year, the project helped create 9.3 million new walking journeys and removed over 1.8 million car km from the roads at peak times.

Next dates: 4 and 5 February. These free assembly sessions are part of the organisation’s mission to inspire pupils of all ages to walk, wheel, cycle or scoot to school wherever possible.
