Cycle to School Week 2026

Cycle to School Week takes place from 5 to 9 October 2026, encouraging children and families across the country to swap the school run for a cycle journey.

Cycling to school can help children build confidence, independence and healthy habits, while providing an active start to the day. Last year, almost half a million children, families and schools pledged to take part.

Schools can get involved by encouraging pupils and families to cycle, scoot or wheel to school during the week and celebrate the benefits of active travel.

Schools that sign up can access free downloadable resources, including activity packs and materials to help promote Cycle to School Week in their setting.

There are also opportunities for schools and pupils to take part in prize draws and competitions, including the chance to win cycles, helmets and other cycling-related prizes.
