Child-Friendly Virtual School Annual Report 2025-26

Dear Colleagues,

As we begin another academic year, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for everything you do to support Oxfordshire's care-experienced children and young people, as well as those who have a social worker. Your commitment, advocacy, understanding and high aspirations make a genuine difference to children's lives every day.

Attached is a child-friendly version of the Virtual School report (pdf, 254kb), designed specifically for the children and young people we support. It explains who we are, what we do, the difference our work made during 2025-26 and, most importantly, reinforces a simple message: we are on their side and we do not give up on them.

We would be very grateful if you could share this report with any children and young people supported by the Virtual School in your setting. We hope it helps them better understand the role of the Virtual School, celebrates their achievements, and encourages them to speak up about what matters to them.

The report highlights their voice, their progress and their future.
