OCC Nursery Admissions Policies Sept 2025

September 2025 versions of the two OCC nursery admissions policies are available on the OCC internet -  https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/schools/apply-school-place/applying-nursery 

All community, voluntary controlled* and nursery schools must use the OCC policy and should link to the policy on their school website. 

There is no change in the admissions rules other than to reflect the increased working parent entitlement for under 3s. 

Updated guidance for schools has been added including:

• link to DfE requirement that funded entitlement should be offered without artificial breaks
• clarified that the funded place must be offered without requirement to buy additional services (such as lunch)
• advice relating to admitting children on or after their 2nd or 3rd birthdays – ‘Just 2s’ and ‘Just 3’s’ 

* Academies and voluntary aided schools set their own nursery admissions policy, but we know a number do use and adapt the OCC model.
