NSPCC - The Most Dangerous Time

You may have seen the Childline Christmas TV advert or social media campaign, Most Dangerous Time. While Christmas is magical for many, it can also be a time when some children feel unsafe or alone. When schools close and routines change, children may be away from the safe adults they rely on and unsure where to turn.

About the Programme

Speak Out Stay Safe is a free safeguarding programme for primary schools. It helps children feel informed and supported through age-appropriate, engaging content designed to empower them with memorable messages about:

  • Their right to feel safe
  • How to recognise signs of abuse
  • Who their safe adults are
  • How to contact Childline – online or by phone – if they ever need support

What’s Included

  • 20-minute film for ages 5–7
  • 30-minute film for ages 7–11
  • Follow-up classroom activities
  • A template letter for parents and carers

The films can be shown in an assembly or classroom – just press play. All resources are ready to go, making it simple to deliver.

Why It Matters

We know the lead-up to Christmas is busy, but making time for children to hear these vital messages could make a big difference. Early intervention and awareness can help keep children safe during the holidays.
