The SEN service is responsible for:
- strategy for special educational needs
- statutory responsibilities in relation to the identification and assessment of, and provision for, children with special educational needs, including the provision of a SENDIASS (SEN & Disability Information, Advice and Support Service, formerly Parent Partnership) Service
- support, in collaboration with the Schools and Learning Service, for school improvement in relation to special educational needs
- exercising SEN functions to meet the requirements of value for money.
