Year 7 Transfer for September 2026

Applications (pdf, 213kb) can now be submitted for Year 7 transfer to secondary school for the 2026/27 academic year. Could you please spread the word through your schools newsletters and any other methods of communication that parents and carers of children currently in Year 6 can apply for Year 7 at secondary school - I have attached a template letter (rtf, 649kb) that you can use or adapt as you wish. 

Applications can be submitted online - www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/secondaryadmissions 

• The deadline for receipt of completed applications is: 31 October 2025. 

Applicants are encouraged to list 4 schools as preferences, and to consider how they will get to and from school. Free travel will only be provided where a child attends their nearest available school, and where that school is over 3 miles from the home address. Free transport may be provided to the nearest school at a lesser distance where there is no walkable route. 

Free travel assistance is not made available where a child attends a school further from home than their nearest available school. For those who cannot/will not apply online, I have attached a paper copy of the application form.
