School Workforce Census 2025

This is to advise that the school workforce census for 2025 is 6 November. 

This is a statutory return and each school is required by law to submit a return. The main change this year relates to the reporting of ethnicity and disability information. 

• While all employees have the absolute right not to provide this information, this must be recorded in your MIS as ‘Refused’. 

Where no data is recorded, the field will default to ‘Information not yet obtained’ – this will be recorded as a query in your return, you must change your data accordingly. 

• Reporting this detail is not a new requirement, but the census now treats missing data as a query.
