Reminder for Schools: Submit Your SFVS Checklist by 14 February 2025

Attention all maintained schools! 

Oxfordshire County Council has issued a reminder for the submission of the Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS) Checklist for the 2024-25 academic year. 

  • The deadline for submission is Friday, 14 February 2025. 

The SFVS Checklist is an annual mandatory statutory return required from all maintained schools. It is designed to help schools and the local authority ensure they meet basic standards of good financial health and resource management. 

Key Points to Remember: 

  • Submission Deadline: Friday, 14 February 2025
  • Submission Method: Electronically to accounts@oxfordshire.gov.uk
  • Required Signatures: The front page must be signed and dated by the Chair of the Governing Body. 

The checklist for completion is available on the Schools Financial Value Standard (SFVS) page, along with a Template for Recording Related Party Transactions if needed. The checklist guidance explains each question, offers good practice examples, and details further support. 

The self-assessment dashboard, now part of the benchmarking and insights tool, has moved. Section E of the checklist asks if the governing body has reviewed the dashboard or other DfE benchmarking tools. Refer to this web page for details.
