The Oxfordshire Education and Inclusion Partnership (OCEP) Update

Following the first formal meeting of the OCEP in December, the group reconvened on January 7th.  Agenda items included: 

• The composition of an Oxfordshire Education and Inclusion Strategy: This was the main focus of the morning. Prior to wider consultation, members agreed a draft format and spent time debating the need for the restoration of schools at the heart of local communities, fostering better connections and a sense of belonging. Using these concepts as a backdrop, a small number of cross-phase priorities and workstreams will be developed with timed, child focused, measurable improvements.
• Data sharing between schools and OCC: The existing formal agreement was a topic for information and debate. The purpose of the existing information exchange agreement to be renewed in all schools in January 2025 was clarified. The current agreement does not include a voluntary school-to-school data sharing agreement. The value of such an arrangement as part of a transparent, self-improving school culture requires further consultation and debate, but can be enabled by OCC in partnership with schools.
• The Oxfordshire County Council Education Protocol The revised document, following suggestions from Headteachers via the OCEP, was approved. The new version, with updated data annexes with be distributed to schools in January. 

The OCEP is formed of nominated representatives across the education sector in Oxfordshire. The members to date are: 

All school leaders will receive OCEP updates from their representatives via established professional networks.

The next formal meeting of the OCEP will take place on March 19th.
