New Academic Year - Date of birth & National Curriculum Year

If you struggle to know which national curriculum year (NCY) to put children/young person in, then this may help. 

Find attached a crib sheet for the NEW academic year (2025/26) (xlsx, 12kb) showing the date of birth (DOB) range for each NCY.

It shows the age at the beginning of the academic year and the age they will become during that year. 

• Lots of schools/academies inadvertently use the wrong NCY which then shows the pupil working outside of their correct NCY
