Nationally accredited training for Leaders of Educational Visits

Do you want to build the confidence and competence of yourself or your colleagues to lead Educational Visits?

This full day course is based at Oxford Sailing Club, Farmoor Reservoir, OX2 9NS. It is nationally accredited by OEAP and comprises theory and practice modules for colleagues who plan to lead visits off site with parties of children and young people.

It is a practically based course which deals with dynamic risk benefit assessment and allows the sharing of best practice together with opportunities to raise issues directly related to your setting. This certificated course is for those who wish to lead off-site visits.

The course focuses specifically on developing leader competence through identifying the core components for organising a successful visit: using the National Guidance; principles and rationale for visits; legal expectations including the local (OCC) context; planning, preparation and evaluation of visits; risk management; emergency planning; and monitoring. The practical modules covers safety at water margins, road and vehicle safety, public access spaces and route-finding using simple maps.

Cost £170 (includes handbook and lunch)
