Health and wellbeing twilight training sessions
Oxfordshire County Council, in partnership with Raising Nutrition and North Oxfordshire School Sports Partnership, are pleased to offer new twilight training sessions for Governors and Senior Leaders on health and wellbeing topics.
- The sessions confirmed so far are Monday 30 June - 1900-2030
Feeding Success: A whole school approach to enhancing wellbeing, learning and performance through nutrition.
This bitesize version of this course will explore how improving food and nutrition in schools supports learning and wellbeing for all. We will review key evidence highlighting the link between diet and performance and establish the key features of a healthy diet. The course will also look at how to foster a healthy food culture in a school and provide a framework for this to be evaluated by governors or key staff.
KEY OUTCOMES:
- Attendees will have a clear understanding of how diet, food and nutrition can impact performance and behaviour of young people at school
- Attendees will gain key insights into the Eatwell Guide as a model for healthy eating promoting both physical and mental health.
- Attendees understand how the wider food environment and culture in their own school can contribute positively to students’ wellbeing through nutrition.
- Attendees will gain resources to facilitate governor visits to assess the food culture in their schools.
