Health and safety on Educational Visits

The full updated policy is now available online Visits, advice and guidance | Oxfordshire

1. All Category A, B and C Educational visits requiring OCC insurance should be compiled on the Termly Insurance Declaration form at the start of term, before visits take place, and submitted to insurance@oxfordshire.gov.uk. The form can be accessed at School journey and personal accident insurance | Oxfordshire Schools

2. All Category C visit plans must be prepared on the eVisit 2.0 visit planning portal, approved through school processes and submitted via the portal to the Off-Site Visits Officer for review 4 weeks prior to the visit.

3. Visit Notification Forms are now obsolete and should not be used.

4. Schools are recommended to use the eVisit system for all Category A and B visits, however this remains a school-level decision. It is understood that some schools may decide to phase the introduction of the system for this broader range of visits in the next Academic Year.

5. All maintained schools are requested to subscribe to the OCC Educational Visits Service via the Education Services portal. There is no charge for this service: https://educationservices.oxfordshire.gov.uk/

6. The next eVisit induction training course is taking place on Wednesday 7 May. This is mandatory training for the EVC (or appropriate substitute) in all maintained schools: eVisit 2.0 training for Educational Visit Coordinators (AM) | Oxfordshire | Education Services

7. Academies – OCC no longer provides Educational Visits support (advice, review/feedback on visit plans, interpretation of National Guidance) to academies unless they subscribe to the NEW traded service.
