Year 1 Mathematics - Moving from EYFS to Y1 expectations
Session 1 - Online
We will explore the progression through the year and what we would expect to see in lessons by the end of the autumn, spring and summer term.
We will reflect how resources within published schemes can be adapted and supported by manipulatives.
We will develop subject knowledge for teaching the ‘trickier’ elements of the curriculum.
We will share strategies and approaches to ensure pupils ‘keep up’ with pre teaching and same day intervention
Session 2 - Face-to-face
This face -to-face session will give us an opportunity to practically explore mathematical structures and the use of key manipulatives first hand.
We will explore assessment opportunities and the next steps required towards the end of year expectations.
There will be an opportunity to network and share pupil outcomes across the schools attending
