Local nature recovery strategy

Oxfordshire County Council and partners are developing a local nature recovery strategy with, and for, the county of Oxfordshire. The strategy will create a map of priority areas for action in Oxfordshire and a list of the priorities that we need to focus resources like funding towards. Creating these with you will enable us to create a shared ambition of the most urgent nature recovery priorities across Oxfordshire.

To inform this strategy we are seeking a broad range of views from people across Oxfordshire. Landowners have a significant amount of influence to make a difference for mature, many already are taking actions. So, before we map out areas to suggest action, we want to hear which nature recovery actions are priorities for you and about any actions that you may be planning to take to help wildlife and nature.

It isn’t compulsory to take the actions in the areas that we map, instead the areas mapped are expected to attract more funding opportunities for landowners, including increased BNG credits.

Have your say at one of our workshops.

As well as attending the workshop, you can also use our online survey to tell us your priorities for biodiversity (animals, plants, fungi, soil microorganisms) in Oxfordshire by the 31 March 2024.
