Large majority of Oxfordshire parents and children offered first choice primary for 2024/25
A total of 94.59 per cent (6,613) of applicants have been awarded their first choice of primary school in Oxfordshire for 2024/25, slightly higher than last year (93.55 per cent, 6,729 applicants).
A total of 99.28 per cent (6,937) have been offered one of the four choices they listed on their application.
This year there are 6,999 Oxfordshire children who need primary school places for September 2024, 206 less than last year.
Councillor John Howson, Oxfordshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Children, Education and Young People's Services, said: “We aim to give all children the best start in life and educational and learning opportunities are fundamental to this. I’m therefore delighted that we have been able to offer the majority of applicants their first choice of school.”
This year’s national figures will not be published until later in the year.
