HR training for schools

Education Personnel Services (EPS) are delivering on-line courses starting in September 2024.

The training courses have been developed to help you get access the support you need. 

All sessions will be held using Microsoft Teams and will be an hour long with an additional 30 minutes available for questions at the end. 

Absence management

Designed for head teachers and senior managers. The course shows absence can be effectively managed and provides strategies for managing the impact of long- and short-term absence, to improve attendance levels.  The course will also cover supporting employees returning from a period of ill-health.

Performance management 

This course will enable managers, who will be conducting staff reviews, to identify and develop the skills they will need to do this effectively. There will be a focus on the management of performance and addressing any capability concerns. Also, the objective setting process as the key to effective performance management 

Staff restructuring

This course will help you to manage staff restructures effectively. It will help you see the wider context, including budget constraints and to outline the steps involved if there is a need to reduce staff.  The course also identifies ways of achieving savings by adopting a more strategic approach. 

Managing HR process/policies

This session is for business managers who assist head teachers with starting absence management processes looking at budgets for restructuring, addressing performance or conduct concerns of staff they manage.  It covers how to manage this effectively and what you should take into account when starting any HR process.

Once you’ve registered, you will receive and invitation to the Teams meeting. 

Please note: this is a discretionary service, so a there is a charge of £75 per person, £120 if booking for two sessions.

To keep these sessions manageable there will be a limit of 10 attendees per session.
