Healing Classrooms - support for migrant children

The International Rescue Committee’s Healing Classrooms programme is a trauma-informed training that supports schools and educators in developing inclusive and nurturing learning spaces where refugee and asylum-seeking children can gain the necessary academic, social and emotional skills to develop their full potential.

In collaboration with Oxfordshire County Council, we will be running an in-person training session at Oxford Westgate Library on Friday January 10 2025. The training is free to attend and is aimed at anyone who supports refugee and asylum-seeking children and youth in education settings.

Please see the Healing Classrooms Registration Form for more information and details on how to register.

"I found this course insightful. Healing Classrooms provides schools and staff with effective tools and approaches to meaningfully respond to the needs of refugee families who join our schools and communities. The IRC's practical and informed delivery is vital in helping to develop initiatives which support and nurture refugee children as they begin their learning journey in school."

"Healing Classrooms was an excellent resource and inspiration for me. They provided a huge number of practical ideas that were easily implemented to foster a sense of safety and belonging for our young refugees. Their approach is based on proven research into trauma and identity augmented by extensive real world practical experience. I cannot recommend this course more strenuously - if you can attend, please do!"
