Funding available to help people get active

Active Oxfordshire (AO) - in partnership with OCC, City and District councils - are excited to announce that the 2nd round of funding has been launched for the Community Active Travel Fund. Active Oxfordshire will be distributing the funds on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council to local community projects which aim to encourage residents to adopt physically active and healthy travel behaviours, like walking, wheeling, and cycling.

Active Oxfordshire welcome applications for projects in Banbury, Witney, Didcot, Abingdon, Bicester, and the priority neighbourhoods of Oxford: Blackbird Leys, Northfield Brook, Barton, Littlemore, Rosehill and Carfax.

Do you have an idea that can help people in your community to travel more actively, and to walk, wheel or cycle more regularly?  Could your idea help others to explore their local area? If so, then Active Oxfordshire wants to hear your ideas and help you to make them a reality.

The aim of the fund is to support local residents from priority neighbourhoods to travel more actively to work, school and in their daily lives. So, if you have a community group that operates in one of Oxfordshire's priority neighbourhoods and have a great idea about how to increase active travel.

Active Oxfordshire would love to work with you to make it happen!   AO are running various information sessions about the fund across the next few weeks;

  • Friday 18 October: 11am -12pm
  • Wednesday 23 October: 9.30am-10.30am
  • Thursday 24 October: 4-5pm
  • Wednesday 6 November: 12-1pm
