Free Protective Behaviours Training Services to support RSHE
The Safety Effect is commissioned by OCC to provide free education services to all secondary schools focused on the Protective Behaviours (PB) approach, PB focuses on improving confidence and developing life skills so that young people can feel safe and get support should they need to. PB is an approach that focuses on providing young people with an understanding on what safe (and unsafe) feels like whilst also discussing where they can go for support should they need it.
We frame protective behaviours around many Relationships, Sex, Health and Education (RSHE) sessions, our most popular sessions include: risk-taking, drugs, alcohol, consent and healthy relationships. In addition, we recently (Jan 24) hosted a CPD session focused on Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA) for professionals in Oxfordshire, you can watch a recording of the session here.
