Free Active Travel Resources Pack
The Active Travel Ambassadors (ATA) Outreach Programme is a package of resources designed to guide a group of secondary school pupils through designing and delivering their own active travel campaign. The ATA Outreach Programme is designed to get pupils collecting and analysing their own data, creating targets and delivering a campaign.
This enables pupils to take ownership of their campaign, actioning targets they created together. Pupils can choose to focus their campaign on a range of topics. For example, road safety, increasing active travel, reducing air pollution, anti-idling etc. Whilst taking part in the ATA Outreach Programme, participating pupils will also develop a range of transferable skills including problem solving, data analysis, public speaking and evaluation. Taking part in the ATA Outreach Programme will also help contribute towards the school’s travel plan, with the potential of achieving an active travel accreditation at the end of the year.
