Fire, Road and Water Safety Talk for Years 5 & 6

Oxfordshire County Council Fire and Rescue Service are currently offering to bring their Home, Fire and Road Safety programme into schools across Oxfordshire. We can visit, free of charge, on a date convenient to your school to talk to your Years 5 and 6 pupils about important issues around fire, road and water safety.

Children in Years 5 and 6 are reaching the age when they are starting to gain more independence from their parents / carers and may be beginning to walk to school alone. Our talk includes plenty of vital information to help keep them safer at this crucial time in their lives. The session lasts for around an hour, with an extra 10 – 15 minutes at the end for any questions the children may have.

We can offer morning sessions from 10.15am or afternoon sessions from 1pm. All Years 5 and 6 pupils attend the session together. If you would like to offer your pupils this potentially life-saving lesson, please email diane.newsham@oxfordshire.gov.uk with three convenient dates for this academic year (2024-25) and indicate your preference for morning or afternoon sessions.

We will check our availability and email you confirmation of which date we can attend.
