Extension of Household Support Funds support in school holidays

Central government has confirmed a six month extension of the Household Support Fund for 2024/25, which provides the budget for free school meal equivalent food support ahead of school holidays.

OCC recently wrote to advise that as funding was not confirmed you should not proceed in purchasing vouchers for the Easter holidays 2024. In light of the governments recent announcement, we can now confirm that Oxfordshire County Council will be providing funding for Household Support Fund at least until the end of the summer 2024 holidays. As such, you can now go ahead with your usual arrangements for purchasing and distributing vouchers for Easter 2024.

For Early Years settings, please note that working families receiving the new entitlement for two year olds, due to begin in April 2024, will not be entitled to the Household Support Fund. Those qualifying through the low income scheme for two year olds, will receive the holiday support.
