Energy Saving Support

We are delighted to announce that the Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES) programme has been extended until March 2025. The Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES) programme is an energy efficiency support service, funded by Oxfordshire County Council and delivered by Oxford Brookes University & Low Carbon hub. ACES has been going for two years, supporting schools across Oxfordshire to cut their energy use, carbon emissions and save money on their energy bills. ACES have to date engaged with over 100 schools interested in improving their school’s energy performance including 60% of County-maintained schools.

By providing schools with free energy assessments; a thermal imaging service; one-to-one support and guidance; and support to access funding, ACES is helping schools become more energy efficient, and reduce their energy use. The changes schools have already implemented are resulting in 19.8 tonnes of carbon savings a year. ACES is now able to offer eligible County-maintained schools energy assessments and additional one-to-one support for a third year. Head to the ACES website to find out more. Tips on managing your schools energy use can also be found on the recently updated Schools Intranet, Saving energy at school page.
