EMAT Training Hub - Courses with Gateway

The EMAT Training Hub has three exciting courses coming up this autumn which have been carefully designed to tackle some sector-wide issues currently facing all school leaders.

Engaging with parents and carers to support their child’s learning has never been more challenging and our course - Working Together: Parents and Carers as Partners – on Tuesday 8 October looks at how we can build effective partnerships between schools and parents/carers to enhance the educational experience and outcomes for children. Our course leader Hannah Hall is an experienced school improvement consultant, coach and trainer who works closely with the well-respected behaviour specialist Paul Dix.

Our second offer is Improving School Attendance: A Child-Centred Approach to Improving Attendance. A national priority, tackling poor attendance is vital to ensuring pupils’ reach their full potential. Our course on Thursday 7 November, led by Wayne Harris who has a wealth of experience in improving attendance at both primary and secondary level, will show you how to foster a culture of everyone being responsible for school attendance. It includes a unique opportunity immediately after the course to work with Wayne on an action plan to tackle attendance issues at your school.

For SENDCos and pastoral leads, we will be looking at understanding and working through challenging behaviour on our course Decoding Behaviour: Understanding, Addressing & Fostering Positive Responses to Supporting SEMH on Wednesday 27 November. Through practical techniques, we’ll equip SENDCos and pastoral leads with the skills to spot non-problem-solving behaviour effectively, addressing underlying issues or unmet needs.

We’re thrilled to be working with Gateway Alliance to deliver these courses from our dedicated EMAT Training Hub in Northampton, just off junction 15 of the M1. We’re offering a special early bird discount of 50% for bookings made before the end of July.
