Claim your free energy assessment
Would your school like to save energy? Are you keen to cut your carbon emissions?
Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES) has a limited number of free energy assessments to offer county-maintained schools. An energy assessment will help your school find where you could be saving on energy, what the ‘quick wins’ are for energy saving and give you expert tailored advice for your individual school needs. The assessment will also help identify what energy saving technologies, such as LED lighting, insulation or solar panels, would be most suitable for your school.
The team can also signpost you to any potential funding or support to help install the energy saving measures indicated in the assessment. Improving the energy efficiency of your school helps cut energy bills, carbon emissions and makes buildings more comfortable for staff and students. The assessment is done by the expert team at the Environmental Information Exchange at Oxford Brookes University.
The team has already helped 29 schools with energy assessments and our recommendations have led to over 20 tonnes of carbon savings per year and over £25,700 of cost savings. These savings are from schools implementing a mixture of behavioural changes eg managing heating settings and measures such LED lighting, timers for hot water and boiler insulation.
