Update with regards Penalty Notice Warning letters

Following the notification of a change to the way the PN warning should be issued to parents for unauthorised holiday in Schools news on 25th June and repeated in today’s schools news we can confirm that all schools who have completed the PN training will receive the following by the 11th July 2019.

  • Model Attendance Policy
  • Penalty Notice Code of Practice 2019- this is the new code and replaces the former Code of Conduct
  • Letter for schools: PN warning September 19- this is the letter to send out to all parents In September 19. A draft letter has been created following requests from schools and to ensure consistency.
  • PNW Holiday Letter- this letter should be sent to the parent within 5 days of the young person returning to school following an unauthorised holiday and where the school are going to refer to the County Attendance Team.
