The autumn term meetings will include priorities decided by attendees and could include topics such as assessment across the curriculum and the return of statutory assessment. The sessions will be led by Matthew Rixson, an experienced school improvement professional with responsibility for assessment and data. Matthew has worked in Hampshire primary schools for over 20 years in a range of contexts. Before joining HIAS, Matthew was a headteacher for nine years. He has a particular interest in exploring how formative assessment can be used to develop children’s learning by setting clear goals and planning learning carefully and identifying what students have understood and where they are struggling.
