Learner Engagement - School Training Offer

Our free school training offer is designed to share best practice and provide opportunities for Oxfordshire settings to be transformative in how they work to ensure more children and young people are positively engaging in their education. The intended outcome is increased attendance across Oxfordshire schools.

Training courses:

An Introduction to Becoming a Restorative School (1.5-2hr Twilight/Staff Meeting)

An introduction to Restorative Practice (RP), understanding the benefits of RP and RP techniques that can be used across school to embed the ‘WITH’ approach to managing and resolving bullying and conflict.

Becoming a Restorative School (3hr INSET)

An introduction to Restorative Practice (RP), understanding the benefits of RP and RP techniques that can be used across school to embed the ‘WITH’ approach to managing and resolving bullying and conflict. This training gives staff time to apply theory in practical
exercises designed to emulate day-to-day interactions with children and young people affected by conflict.

Creating a Safe Space for Everybody (1.5-2hr Twilight/Staff Meeting)

An opportunity to consider what children need to feel safe in school, their rights and what the law says about safety in schools. Staff will explore definitions of bullying, the impact of bullying on children and their role in creating a safe environment for
every child.

everybody.

Creating a LGBT-Inclusive School (1.5-2hr Twilight/Staff Meeting)

An opportunity to understand the expectations regarding LGBT-inclusion in schools; gain knowledge about LGBT-specific issues; learn about best practice; and where to go for resources and local support.
