Early Years and Childcare Sufficiency and Access

Support children birth to 14 (19 for disabled children) manage Early Years and Childcare Funding.

Very briefly, the work this team does is made up of:

  • Ensuring sufficient high quality Early Years and Childcare provision across Oxfordshire in line with the County Council’s statutory duties
  • Policy development of Early Years and Childcare Grants Programme, Nursery Education Funding and Maintained school nursery admissions
  • Administration of Early Years and Childcare Grants Programme and 2 Year Old Funding
  • Expansion of free places for 2 year olds and for the 30 Hour Childcare offer
  • Advice on the DfE required process for schools wishing to create a nursery class
  • Policy for pre-school use of school premises (pdf format, 96Kb)
