Berkshire College of Agriculture, Maidenhead

Berkshire College of Agriculture (BCA) can provide schools with the opportunity to partner in specialist 14-16 programmes. They offer students in year 10 and 11 the opportunity to study a college course alongside their existing GCSE subjects at school.

The Schools Transition Programme is specifically aimed at individual students in school years 10 & 11 who are experiencing difficulties accessing mainstream education or are home educated. The course provides opportunities to return to learning. The programme, where possible is tailored to each individual student, providing a flexible return to study. The programme will include a vocational area of choice with the opportunity to access English, Maths and Science. If on school roll these can work in partnership with the students’ other studies at school for up to a maximum of 3 days a week. If home educated the course is for a maximum of 2 days a week. Vocational Areas Include: Animal Care, Horticulture, Agriculture, Motor Vehicle, Bushcraft.

There may also be opportunities to access other vocational areas within the college.
