Abingdon and Witney College work in partnership with local secondary schools and Oxfordshire County Council. Abingdon & Witney College offers a range of alternative provision for 14 to 16-year-olds across Oxfordshire. Students have access to vocational education and training, learning in an adult environment. The unique and individualised offer is inherently flexible and is designed to meet individual needs of students and schools. Care is taken to ensure the alternative provision supports students to progress effectively on to their chosen next steps at 16.
The study programmes feature tailored workshop sessions to help students overcome personal barriers to learning. They work closely with all curriculum faculties to offer sessions within vocational areas in and around College. Lessons to improve Functional Skills/ GCSE English and maths are timetabled in combination with Animal Care, Construction, Digital Technologies, Hair & Beauty, Health & Social Care, Land-based studies, Media and Motor Vehicle and/or Music Technology.
The qualifications offered are Entry level 3 to Level 1 awards in combination with enrichment opportunities
