About sensory and physical

Includes children and young people who are deaf, have a vision impairment, multi-sensory impairment, or who have a physical disability which prevents them from using the educational facilities generally provided without adjustments and/or support.

Vision impairment

A child or young person should be considered to have a vision impairment if the visual difficulty is not due to basic refractive errors and cannot be corrected by glasses.

Multi-Sensory

Children and young people with a Multi-Sensory Impairment have a combination of vision impairment and hearing loss.

Physical disabilities

Limitations on a person’s physical functioning, mobility, dexterity or stamina that have a substantial and long-term negative effect on their ability to do normal daily activities.
