Secondment opportunity - School improvement advisor (Primary)

Secondment (one year) : School Improvement Adviser ( Primary )

As you will be aware Sam Bartholomew and Mark Smith have been seconded to Oxfordshire County Council since September 2023, playing a leading role in helping us to deliver on our school improvement priorities. The current arrangements will cease at the end of the academic year when Sam and Mark will return to Dunmore and St John the Evangelist schools respectively. The current arrangement has been very successful and it is something we are keen to repeat. It provides experienced and successful headteachers the opportunity to do something different and new, potentially gain valuable experience and professional development whilst at the same time allowing Oxfordshire County Council and Oxfordshire schools to benefit from the expertise that they bring.

We would therefore like to invite applications for a one year secondment for a Headteacher (x2) to join OCC School Improvement Team ( 5 days a week). If you are a Headteacher with experience of leading improvements in more than one school and would welcome the opportunity to become involved in wider school improvement work, this may be the post for you.  If the idea excites you and you would like an informal conversation, please contact Zaheer Ahmed. A copy of the job description and person specification can be found below.

Interested candidates will be asked to submit an initial  ‘expression of interest’ of no more than one side of A4 to zaheer.ahmed@Oxfordshire.gov.uk by 7pm on Friday 17 May. Shortlisting will take place on Monday 20 and interviews on Thursday 23 May.

The successful candidate/s will be expected to take up the post on the 1st September 2024.
