Interest-free loan available to save energy

Earlier this year, we re-launched an interest-free loan to help schools install energy saving measures. County-maintained schools can apply for up to £70,000 to fund the installation of LED lighting and/or rooftop solar panels. We’ve received a number of requests for the loan application pack with schools keen to learn more about how the measures could help them save energy, and potentially cut operational costs.

The loan is open until Thursday 28 March, but applications are reviewed as they come in so interested schools are encouraged to apply early.

To request a loan application pack, or to find out more about the scheme, please email info@ace-schools.org

The funding is provided by Oxfordshire County Council working with Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES) – an energy efficiency support service that has engaged with over half of all OCC maintained schools since the project launched in 2022. ACES will be available to provide advice and support to schools in applying for the loan.
