BBO Maths Hub is Recruiting!

BBO Maths Hub is recruiting Work Group Leads for the Following Programmes:

BBO Maths Hub would like to find 4 new Work Group Leads to join our Local Leaders of Maths Education (LLME) community and to work with groups of teachers from across our area to develop the teaching and learning that happen in their schools. All of these roles are ideal for teachers who have been teaching in these areas for a few years and are confident in their own subject knowledge and pedagogy. As a Work Group Lead you would not only join our LLME community but also be part of a national community allowing you to further develop your skills and hear about what other experienced teachers are doing in their schools to improve teaching and learning. Working with our community will not only give you the chance to work with teachers beyond your own school but develop your skills and broaden your ideas which you can then bring back to your own school. As part of working with you we would sponsor you to do the Professional Development Lead Accreditation (PD Lead) to enhance your skills when creating, delivering and evaluating Continuous Professional Development (CPD). This would need to happen either in the first or second year of you leading the Work Group. Further details about this can be found here.

The time commitment is 4 days over the academic year and your school/college would be given £800 to help with cover costs. The details of these roles, including time commitment and funding can be found by clicking the links above.

If you are interested in applying please first check that your school would be willing to release you to lead the group and attend the training events then apply by e-mail which should be cc’d to your headteacher and include:

  • Your name
  • Your e-mail
  • Your TRN
  • School or College
  • Work history which is relevant to the role
  •  Why you think you should be considered for the role
  • Details of your current line manager in case we want to find out more about your experience and skills

Note: if you are part time and thinking of doing this on your days off that some of the training and community events you would need to attend will be on teaching days so you would still need to talk to your Headteacher to get their agreement to release you on those days.

If you have any questions or wish to apply, please contact BBO Maths Hub (info@bbomathshub.org.uk) marked for the attention of Jo Walker.

The deadline for applications is Thursday 9 May. Interviews will take place on Wednesday 15 May.
